About the Folds of Honor in Myrtle Beach

The Myrtle Beach Patriots are composed of local golf professionals, package providers and other golf industry professionals. The group started out in 2014 with 10 professionals who played a 100-hole marathon and raised $16,000. In 2022, we had 17 professionals participate in the 100-hole marathon and we anticipate donating over $250,000, bringing our total fundraising to over $1 million dollars.

Folds of Honor awards $5,000 educational scholarships to families of fallen or wounded military service members. That means the Myrtle Beach Patriots have directly funded scholarships for 200 families, all in the Carolinas. That is by far what we are most proud of.

It’s a community effort as well. We have professionals from Founders Group, East Coast Golf, and Legends all working together instead of against each other. Every year we come up with ways to incrementally raise more scholarship money. This will be the second year we have done the “round up” at the counter campaign. Founders raised $42,957 (out of a total of $229,000) for FOH in 2021 via the “round up” effort. This will be our third year selling Folds hats in all Founders pro shops with $10 from every hat sold going to Folds of Honor. Hat sales in 2022 should yield an additional $13,000 in donations.
